Research Interests

As a visitor in the EMI group, Jack is implementing ab initio methods using density functional theory to build atomistic understanding into electrocatalytic and intercalation materials. This includes core-hole spectroscopy modelling, complementing the operando spectroscopies performed in the EMI group.

Biography

Dr Jack Swallow is a Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw Fellow in the Department of Chemistry, University of Manchester. His group is based in the Photon Science Institute, working at the intersection between experimental and computational chemistry to understand and develop better materials for Li-ion batteries and catalysts for fuel generation.
